“Hello little one. Did you know you're on private property?"

"Really? I had no idea." Meryn fudged.

He raised an eyebrow. "The ten foot fence right behind you didn't give it away?”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Since it happens every month I don't think she'll die from blood loss. What's the mission?" Darian asked. "She needs tampons. Evidently it helps with this process. We have to secure the location of where they are being sold, acquire them and then get them back to my mate post haste." "You can rely on us Aiden.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Oh God, is this like Silence of the Lambs?" Tears flowed down her face. "I don't want to go down the hole! I won't put lotion on the skin! Look at me, you won't be able to wear my skin, I won't cover your huge ass!" She wailed.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Why are you being loud? Is it fun being so loud, this early in the morning? Do you know what happens to loud morning people? They die. They die horrible deaths, mutilated in their sleep and are then buried with their balls in their loud fucking mouths.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“What are these? They look like scars." Meryn glanced down and realized he was talking about her stretch marks. Had he never seen stretch marks before?”

“Those are called stretch marks."
"Stretch marks? How did you get them?"

"Human females get them when we grow. If we grow too fast our skin rips apart and heals. It's a very painful process." Meryn lied through her teeth. There was no way she was going to discuss stretch marks after the most mind blowing sex of her life. Nope. Wasn't going to happen. Aiden's expression became reverent.
"Human females are amazing creatures, you endure so much pain yet are so fragile." He kissed each shiny line.

I'm going to hell.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Better get you some chocolate bars. You can throw those from a distance.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Don't blink. Don't even blink." she whispered.
"What in the hell are you talking about?" Aiden looked around trying to identify a hidden threat.
"You blink and you're dead." Meryn stared at the two large stone angels on either side of a heavy looking wooden door unblinking. Aiden's hand went to his sidearm.
"Meryn, that is just a statue."
"But what if it isn't? I mean up until this week I didn't think paranormals existed and now you're all over the fucking place. I can't take the chance.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“You're doing just fine. You've done everything exactly as I would have done. Have you studied battle strategy?" he asked. "No, but I do play World of Warcraft." "Sounds useful, you'll have to show me later.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Sir, I don't know if these are safe. There is a warning about toxic shock syndrome. These things can kill!" Keelan dropped the box he held and wiped his hands on his pants. The other men immediately dropped the boxes they had been holding.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“You're a fucking asshole." "You said that already." "You were such a huge asshole I had to say it twice.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“I am not cute. I am a ferocious killing machine. Paranormals everywhere tremble before me."  "My teddy bear.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“I won't become part of the collective. I refuse to have your babies. Resistance isn't futile!”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Dude, you're so fucked," Colton whispered.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Big, funny men sometimes forget that their smaller mates have access to their unconscious bodies when they go to sleep. Sometimes you have to remind them of that.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“I know what it's like to not fit in. Everyone thinks you're strange because you like to be alone, when really you just don't know how to say hello," Meryn whispered to the tiny creature. He looked up, surprised, and nodded.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“When they walked inside, Meryn inhaled deeply. The only thing that would make this place smell better was if it sold books.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Aiden, his brains are on the foyer floor, I'm pretty sure that is a universally accepted indicator that a person is dead.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Stay here."  "Yeah, fuck that. I'm sticking to you like glue. I've seen this horror movie, the person waiting in the hallway dies." Meryn shook her head. Aiden turned to stare at her. "Later we're going to talk about your movie choices.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“It's okay, my sweet Meryn. I know. I know what you need. I'm your mate, I'll always provide for you. I'll always give you what you desire." Aiden spun her so that her back was flush against his body.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“I am sorry, I didn't mean to imply that either one of you would betray me. But dammit! I walk in to see Colton's clothes on the floor and the two of you snuggled up together." Aiden threw his hands in the air. Meryn thought about it. "Good point. Next time fold your clothes and put them on the dresser," she said, looking down at Colton.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“It's the ultimate story of survival! Nemo is taken by the enemy, but his father doesn't give up trying to retrieve him. He forms unlikely alliances and conquers his fears to get his son back. Nemo also refuses to remain a prisoner and follows the warrior's code to escape and return to his family unit.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Tell me what scares you and I'll kill it.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Colton, looks like your vacation is over buddy. You have drills to make up for, from when you were lounging around with my mate." Meryn heard Aiden tell Colton. "Lounging? She almost blew me up!" Colton yelled. Ryuu raised an eyebrow as he extended a hand to assist her up into the carriage. "Long story, total accident.”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Why are you being loud? Is it fun being so loud, this early in the morning? Do you know what happens to loud morning people? They die. They die horrible deaths, mutilated in their sleep and are then buried with their balls in their loud fucking mouths." Meryn glared at him through half shut eyes. The men gulped. "Here”
― Alanea Alder, quote from My Commander

“Her heard turned so her lips were at his ear. “I think that’s about as real as it gets,” she whispered.”
― Kristen Ashley, quote from Golden Trail

“Even before the withdrawal sets in, you'll do anything to get that feeling back, because as long as it lasts, nothing's wrong. It doesn't matter if you forget something, or lose something. Or if you fail someone. Nothing's wrong and everything feels good, and you never want it to end.”
― Rachel Vincent, quote from My Soul to Keep

“well-armed and fierce-faced, threatening despite their small stature. Simon stared at the trolls. The trolls stared at Simon. “They’ve all heard of ye, Simon,” Haestan boomed; the three riders looked up, startled by his loud voice, “—but no one’s hardly seen ye yet.” The trolls looked the tall guardsman up and down in alarm, then clucked at their mounts and rode on hurriedly, disappearing around the mountain face. “Gave them some gossip,” Haestan chuckled. “Binabik told me about his home,” Simon said, “but it was hard to understand what he was saying. Things are never quite what you think they’re going to be, are they?” “Only th’ good Lord Usires knows all answers,” Haestan nodded. “Now, if y’would see y’r small friend, we’d best move on. Walk careful now—and not so close t’edge, there.”  • • •  They made their way slowly down the looping path, which alternately narrowed and widened as it traversed the mountainside. The sun was high overhead, but hidden in a nest of soot-colored clouds, and a biting wind swooped along Mintahoq’s face. The mountaintop above was white-blanketed in ice, like the high peaks across the valley, but at this lower height the snow had fallen more patchily. Some wide drifts lay across the path, and others nestled among”

“It was a light that shone over our faces, our wounds and scars. It was a light so brilliant and white it could have been beamed from heaven, and Brian and I could have been angels, basking in it. But it wasn’t, and we weren’t.”
― Scott Heim, quote from Mysterious Skin

About BookQuoters

BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.

We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.

Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
