Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life
Quotes from the Book
Some of us ran so far away, during a period of survival, that we forgot to come back home to ourselves. Return home to yourself. You are safe now.
Like sunflowers, no matter where they are planted turn towards the sun, I too began turning in the direction that nourished me.
Many people don’t question the “norm.” But vibrating higher daily will mean questioning such things as the quality of the education system, the entertainment industry, social media, the food system, and all the things that influence society—and you—every day. Raising the vibration of who and what influences society brings about a better world for all. This
At times, you’ll have to pause and recognize how far you’ve come and appreciate it for yourself, regardless of whether anyone else does—or doesn’t. Self-acknowledgment of your growth and efforts is critical to remaining in your power. It’s how I took my power—and joy—back many times. Your own love is divine soul medicine.
Pain and suffering are most often the gateways and the initiation into our higher selves and higher purpose.
We have to have a way of discharging the energy we accumulate in our everyday lives.
There’s a saying that if you’re anxious, it’s because you’re living in the future, and if you’re depressed, it’s because you’re living in the past. When you’re living in the present moment, you realize that both the past and future are just current illusions in the infinite, eternal “now” and that they are actually ways in which you can avoid being in your body. The only place to find happiness is in the present because that’s the only place it truly exists. Trying to find happiness by focusing on what could or might happen in the future is actually a process of disassociation. Practice arriving into today by focusing on taking life one day at a time and doing the most with what you have in front of you currently. There’s a fine balance between living for the moment and taking care of your future self.
I send my younger self so much love. Bless her heart. At that time, she was lost and in much need of higher awareness, vibrations, and guidance, which would eventually, through divine intervention, show up. She let the wrong people in only because she, like many of us, felt alone and misunderstood, and she was not in her power. She didn’t have the right people in her life, and that’s a feeling that many of us share. We all desire to have the right people, the right friends and relationships, in our lives.
I no longer put myself in situations where I compromise my boundaries, truth, power, or authentic feelings. These days, I sustain my soul’s integrity, with delight and with way more composure and ease. The more you live your power, the stronger a force you become in your life. How divine!
Along the same lines, seeking balance by checking in with ourselves after a day of serving the greater good allows us to examine our cup properly. It’s said that you cannot pour from an empty cup. So when serving others, remember to keep your cup full and to be intentional about what you fill your cup with. Stay connected to what positively pours into you, restores you, and helps you to gauge and honor your day-to-day progress. This is daily grace that we can give to ourselves. In the quiet of the morning, set high vibrational intentions for yourself, and as you bring your day to an end, reflect and practice self-examination. And if you didn’t hit the day’s target, allow grace to step in. The next day is a divine gift to set your intentions and go for it again.
For me, this dark night reckoning was the beginning of something new. It led me to realizing that the slowly sprouting seeds planted deep within me all those years before—the ones that got me out of my unhealthy relationships and toxic life—were finally ready to break through and rise above the soil.
If you are outgrowing who you’ve been, you are right on schedule. Keep evolving.
I also took time to look within my body to recognize and release all of the stagnated tension and grief that I had accumulated within. I turned to what nourishes me. I took nourishing baths in Epsom salts, herbs, and essential oils; I got massages; and I also did a new thing: I introduced my body to reflexology, a practice that has since stuck and become highly essential. Staying open to what the many aspects of your being may need—your heart, mind, body, spirit, and soul—is a powerfully integrative way to practice introspection and take real good care of yourself. Introspection
