“There is a kind of poetry, bad and good, in everything, everywhere we look.”
― Ali Smith, quote from Hotel World
“We all know our dates of birth but . . . every year there is another date that we pass over without knowing what it is but it is just as important it is the other date the death date.”
― Ali Smith, quote from Hotel World
“remember you must live.
remember you most love.
remainder you mist leaf.”
― Ali Smith, quote from Hotel World
“Looking in the mirror suddenly she thinks that we all know our dates of birth but that every year there is another date that we pass over without knowing what it is but it is just as important it is the other date the death date.”
― Ali Smith, quote from Hotel World
“Jei žinai, kad jau pasimetei, tai reiškia, kad tikriausiai netrukus nepasimesi. Teisingai?”

“Is it solid or cream filled?” Dallas screams.”
― Jillian Dodd, quote from Hate Me
“بالنسبة لهن البدانة دليل على التقدم الطبيعي في الحياة . كفتيات كن رشيقات ، ثم مع بداية العشرينات من أعمارهن صرن ممتلئات . ومن منتصف إلى أواخر العشرينات أصبحن مكتنزات . وفي الثلاثينات أمسين بدينات . ثم في الأربعينات بتن كالجبال .”
― Peter Benchley, quote from The Girl of the Sea of Cortez
“There must be a special, less volcanic portion of hell that was partitioned off and set aside for people who weren’t all bad, just a little vindictive. They could call it the drama queen ward. It would be a huge hit.”
― Darynda Jones, quote from Seventh Grave and No Body
“Home is where you can be yourself.”
― Adam Gidwitz, quote from In a Glass Grimmly
“His story also demonstrates an obscure truth. Having a plan, any plan, means you know on some level you're going to fail, you're in the wrong. This contradicts everything I've been taught, all the larger principles of modern life, which are all about planning and calculation. But if you're going to success, how could you need to think it out beforehand? If you had the necessary confidence--in every case perfect, unbreakable confidence--the idea of a plan would make you laugh.”
― quote from The November Criminals
BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.
We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.
Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
