“My heart no longer felt as if it belonged to me. It now felt as it had been stolen, torn from my chest by someone who wanted no part of it.”
― Meredith T. Taylor, quote from Churning Waters (Churning Waters Saga)
“I never want to leave you."
I didn't respond- not because I couldn't find the words, but because there weren't any words in the entire world that could have sounded more perfect.”
― Meredith T. Taylor, quote from Churning Waters (Churning Waters Saga)
“William is the most skilled protector that I have ever seen. He is the best." Determination began to swell inside of me.
"Then I will have to be better." Margo Westly”
― Meredith T. Taylor, quote from Churning Waters (Churning Waters Saga)
“My life had become a puzzle - its pieces scattered about like paper in the wind, with no one there to chase them but me.”
― Meredith T. Taylor, quote from Churning Waters (Churning Waters Saga)
“They are from another world, another way of life that somehow has merged with our own. These worlds are kept separate for the safety of everyone."
"And yet, I connect them."
"You do.”

“Three guys and a girl were leaning against a black raised pickup ... I had to do a double take as this group was nothing like I had ever seen before.”

“I stand, and wait among the sea foam. I swim in my own tears-I sing without my voice. I do not reach for higher ground, because I have lapped in the churning waters.”
― Meredith T. Taylor, quote from Churning Waters (Churning Waters Saga)
“And at that very moment, when the kiss was laid on the boy's head, and the mother's arms were firmly wrapped around her child as they'd been when she'd first held him, when she'd first cradled him as a baby, when she'd held him as a child crying over some lost bauble, when she'd held him as a boy when a fever had come on strong, when she'd held him as a young man in the full throat of summer, and when the horse had thrown him and he lay motionless on the flagstones and she'd held him then- at that very moment, the ivy ceased its endless writhings and lapsed into immobility and fell quiet.”
― Colin Meloy, quote from Wildwood Imperium
“Yeah.” He rolled his eyes. “Whatever.” And then he looked at me and the corner of his mouth pulled up into a sly smile. “They taught us that tonight to help us blend in with our peers.”
― Amber L. Johnson, quote from Puddle Jumping
“fortunately all governments will fall
the only ones which won't fall are the good ones
and the good ones don't yet exist”
― Allen Ginsberg, quote from Howl, Kaddish and Other Poems
“She was so wicked. Such a classic case of resentment and ambivalence bumping and brushing up against all that maternal instinct. The love and hate in her was as vast as space- all meteors, no atmosphere.”
― Laura Kasischke, quote from White Bird in a Blizzard
“Sometimes, she told herself, life was a series of obstacles that just had to be negotiated, possibly through sheer act of will. She stared out at the muddy blue of the endless sea, gulped in the air, lifted her chin, and decided that she could survive this. She could survive most things. It was nobody’s right to be happy, after all.”
― Jojo Moyes, quote from The One Plus One
BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.
We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.
Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
