“courage was not the absence of fear, but the ability to walk into unknown territory despite it.”
― Samantha Young, quote from River Cast
“Hindsight sucked. In fact hindsight should be assassinated.”
― Samantha Young, quote from River Cast
“Of how I belong to you?” Her voice went up an octave.
“Yeah.”
“Well, forget about the verbal arm wrestling! Why don’t you just pee on me and everything I own?!”
― Samantha Young, quote from River Cast
“No. Caia’s heart thumped angrily. They were not going to treat Lucien like some C-list recruit, whilst they pandered to her, just because they wanted something from her. And she needed Lucien close by. This was all so weird, so fast; she needed his strength beside her.
“Yeah, well, while you’re at it, ask Madam to arrange a guest suite for Lucien in close location to mine.”
He frowned. “Together you mean?”
Caia flushed. “No, not together. Next to one another.”
Lucien was beginning to look seriously, uncomfortably, pissed off. “Caia you don’t-”
“It’s not for you, it’s for me, so swallow it or choke on it.”
― Samantha Young, quote from River Cast
“What?” Ryder huffed. “Come on that was funny! That was comic gold right there.”
She shrugged, enjoying teasing him. “It was OK. Kind of elementary.”
“Elementary? It’s an effing joke.”
“Whatever.”
His groan could probably be heard for five miles. “Aw this is going to be a looong drive home.”
― Samantha Young, quote from River Cast
“Three months previously I had entered the Haunt alone, covered in blood that was not my own and swinging a stolen sword. By Brothers followed me in. Now I left the castle in the hands of another. I had wanted my uncle's blood. His crown I took because other men said I could not have it.”
― Mark Lawrence, quote from King of Thorns
“Dortchen ducked through a gap in the trees, following a winding path to a small grove of old linden trees, their branches hanging with heavy creamy-white flowers. A hedge of briar roses, with delicate pink-white flowers blooming among the thorns, shielded them from the eyes of anyone walking past.
The garden was alive with birdsong. A blackbird looked at her with a cheeky eye, then hopped away to search for worms. The scent of the linden blossoms was intoxicating.”
― Kate Forsyth, quote from The Wild Girl
“الضمائر تصمتُ أكثر مما هو مطلوبٌ منها، ولهذا أبتُدعت القوانين!!”
― José Saramago, quote from All the Names
“Trace might have wondered why Magnus had aspired to such a high administrative position when it was clear he wanted to mold the youth of their species more than anything, except he knew his father had a driving need to control those gifts from a level where he would make the most powerful impact. It wasn't about making himself happy.”
― Jacquelyn Frank, quote from Rapture
“Why, the man killed over two hundred demons with this sword. They say it is charmed such that whomever wields it cannot be killed by a demon.” “How did he die?” “Knifed by an exotic dancer.”
― Robert Lynn Asprin, quote from Another Fine Myth
BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.
We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.
Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
