Averting my gaze as he finishes up his covert task, he crosses back to me and discreetly slides my phone into my back pocket and settles his eyes onto his colleagues as they roll around on the floor at our feet. 'Now I'll be able to call you,' Freddie says into my ear in a low voice, neither of us taking our gaze from the other.
