― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“You're my invisible sun, aren't you?”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“It's not our talents that make us safe or dangerous, it's our choices.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“After all, the monsters think you're the delicious one."

"Smart monsters. I am tasty."

"Says who?"

"Don't believe me? See for yourself."

"Yeah? How?"

"Bite me.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Even if it kills me, staying awake and seeing you... is better than any dream.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Yes. I love them both. And I'd die for them both.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Why can't it just work?" she moaned. "Just once I want to come up with a plan and have it work. Is that too much to ask?"

Orion opened his mouth, about to say something to calm Helen down.

"Of course it isn't!" Helen interrupted, her rant picking up steam. "But nothing works down here! Not our talents, not even the geography works. That lake over there is tilted on a slope! It should be a river, but oh, no, not down here! That would make too much sense!”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Helen decided that the saying about "time healing all wounds" was a bunch of bull and probably only worked for people with very poor memories. The time she's spent apart from Lucas hadn't healed anything. The distance only made her miss him more.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“How am I supposed to forget you?” Helen asked, laughing weakly at such a silly suggestion. “You’re too big a part of me. I’d have to forget who I am to forget you.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Why is it so damn cold in this damn house...damn it!”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Because you, Your Chosen Oneness, can come and go down here as you please.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“He loved her eyes. They were always changing, and Lucas liked to catalogue all their different colors in his mind. When she laughed, her eyes were pale amber, like honey sitting in a glass jar on a sunny window. When he kissed her, they darkened until they were the rich color of mahogany leather, but with strips of red and gold thread shot through. Right now they were turning dark—inviting him to lower his lips to hers.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“So initiate us," Claire said, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes in challenge. "Make us priests and priestesses of Apollo."

"Say that again," Jason said, turning to Claire. He was so stunned there was almost no expression on his face.

"That's the plan you've been working on for the past two days? The one you told us not to worry about?" Matt asked in an increasingly high-pitched voice.

"Yup.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“This Descender was the princess he had been waiting for - the real Helen.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Should Cassandra initiate us, Sibyl?" Matt asked, his eyes narrowed like he was testing a dangerous theory that could blow up in his face.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“I think we can put this one on the 'he was definitely high' pile.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Remember there's always a grain of truth in the prophecies, no matter how much poetry has been frosted on top." ~ Lucas to Helen”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“I think all those ancient prophecies are so full of poetic nonsense that half the time no one understands what they mean." ~ Helen”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“You're my invisible sun, aren't you?
- Dreamless”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“And in case I forget everything, including to come back, I want you to know that I still love you."
"I still love you too." A smile tugged at his lips.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Saber lo que uno de verdad desea y tener la confianza para decirlo son dos de las cosas más difíciles de lograr en la vida”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Y, por sí me olvido de todo, incluido el camino de regreso, quiero que sepas que sigo queriéndote con toda mi alma.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Odio perderte, pero me encantan las razones por las que decides abandonarme.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“It’s not our talents that make us safe or dangerous, it’s our choices.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“If other men were houses, Lucas was her home.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“Considerate tutte le cose meravigliose di cui è capace l’essere umano, perché ci concentriamo tanto sulla guerra? Gli uomini dovrebbero fare di meglio.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

“I sogni a volte si avverano, ma questo non accade con facilità.”
― Josephine Angelini, quote from Dreamless

Popular quotes

“That’s impossible [...] You need infinite energy for light travel. Haven’t you heard of the theory of relativity?”

She thought she had him stumped with that one, but he just laughed again. “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
― Shannon Messenger, quote from Keeper of the Lost Cities

“But I lived a lie. I lived it out of anger. This is what I am trying to tell you. I have lived lies. I have done it again and again. I live lies because I cannot endure the weakness of anger and I cannot admit the irrationality of love. Oh the lies I have told myself and others. I knew it yet I didn't know.”
― Anne Rice, quote from Blood And Gold

“take either forty-eight or eighty-four pages to”
― Lemony Snicket, quote from A Series of Unfortunate Events Box: The Complete Wreck

“The Baudelaire orphans hung on to one another, and wept and wept while the adults argued endlessly behind them. Finally-as, I'm sorry to say, Count Olaf forced the Quagmires into puppy costumes so he could sneak them onto the airplane without anyone noticing-the Baudelaires cried themselves out and just sat on the lawn together in weary silence.”
― Lemony Snicket, quote from The Austere Academy

Knitter's Anonimous

Rhage (in his bedroom posting in V's room on the board)
Hi, my name is V.
("Hi, V")
I've been knitting for 125 years now.
(*gasping noises*)
It's begun to impact my personal relationships: my brothers think I'm a nancy. It's begun to affect my health: I'm getting a callus on my forefinger and I find bits of yarn in all my pockets and I'm starting to smell like wool. I can't concentrate at work: I keep picturing all these lessers in Irish sweaters and thick socks.
(*sounds of sympathy*)
I've come seeking a community of people who, like me, are trying not to knit.
Can you help me?
(*We're with you*)
Thank you (*takes out hand-knitted hankie in pink*)
(*sniffles*)
("We embrace you, V")

Vishous (in the pit): Oh hell no...you did not just put that up. And nice spelling in the title. Man...you just have to roll up on me, don't you. I got four words for you, my brother.

Rhage: Four words? Okay...lemme see... Rhage, you're so sexy.
hmmm....
Rhage, you're SO smart. No wait! Rhage, you're SO right! That's it, isn't it...g'head. You can tell me.

Vishous: First one starts with a "P"
Use your head for the other three.
Bastard.

Rhage: P? Hmm... Please pass the yarn

Vishous: Payback is a bitch!

Rhage: Ohhhhhhhhhhhh
I'm so scuuuuuurred.
Can you whip me up a blanket to hide under?”
― J.R. Ward, quote from The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's Guide

About BookQuoters

BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.

We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.

Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
