The Night Hunt

People think the night hides things, but truthfully the day hides all the horrors. It coats them in light, making people feel safe in their lies. Give humans a little bit of sunshine and suddenly the world is a good place again.

It reminds me I’m more than what they made me to be, and to never accept a fate I’ve been given by someone else.

Despite what you might have heard, the night was not actually made for monsters. It was made for the humans to find freedom from the harsh light of being seen. To let them loose from the restraints they’d chosen for themselves or the ones that had been put onto them.

With names came purpose and power. People gave them like gifts: so you could be recognized and remembered.
