“Even when you think you´ve finally got things running great, sometimes they fall apart anyway. And they can´t always be fixed. At least not by you...The only things we can control is how we deal with it.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“I was trying so hard to be what everyone wanted me to be, and yet every time I looked around, I was failing.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“Sometimes a random fact of kindness that seems like no big deal to you can mean the world to someone else.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“Sometimes things are stronger than you give them credit for.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“It´s ironic how failures in life are often proceded by warning signs that we dont pick up on, either because they´re not loud enough or we´re not paying attention...When the little warnings fail to do their job, the universe simply bumps up its campaign to get you back n track. Even if it means clocking you over the head with a major disaster to finally shake some sense into you.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“We come forth tonight," she bagen, "in the name of Sisterhood , to bring new Sisters into our fold. We present to you an oppurtunity, young Sisters. We are the new face of women. Our leadership will bring the dawn of a new era.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“But Mel's and Sarah Jane's joyful tears and my miserable tears had nothing in common.
Just like us.”
― Kay Cassidy, quote from The Cinderella Society

“Sarah Jane turned to face me square on, her eyes full of compassion and wisdom and strength I could never match. "You are the gaurdian, Jess. The truth is inside you if you look for it. Trust that you're here because you're destined to be.”

She didn't know how crazy her request was. Someone like Sarah Jane could never understand. she was asking me to tear down my defenses, walls that kept me protected in my lobely but safe bubble. A bubble that let me belive I was good enough, that people just hadn't gotten the chance to really know me.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath praying for some kind of sign. No lighntning bolt appeared in the sky, but a momentary shower of peace rained over me. It went and came so quickly I wondered if I had imagined it, but in the end, I knew. if tere was a time to trust , this was it.
"Trust the universe and go with God," Nan would always say. It scared the living hck out of me. What happns when they realize I'm just me?”

Popular quotes

“When I look at a piece of furniture from across a room, I see form, style, scale, context, and intended use. As I approach it, I distinguish material, joinery, and proportions. When I get close enough to touch it, I take in details such as hardware, textures, finish, edge treatments, wood grain, quality, and comfort.”
― quote from Why We Make Things and Why It Matters: The Education of a Craftsman

“There is nothing novel about trying to become happy. And one can become happy, within certain limits, without any recourse to the practice of meditation. But conventional sources of happiness are unreliable, being dependent upon changing conditions. It is difficult to raise a happy family, to keep yourself and those you love healthy, to acquire wealth and find creative and fulfilling ways to enjoy it, to form deep friendships, to contribute to society in ways that are emotionally rewarding, to perfect a wide variety of artistic, athletic, and intellectual skills—and to keep the machinery of happiness running day after day. There is nothing wrong with being fulfilled in all these ways—except for the fact that, if you pay close attention, you will see that there is still something wrong with it. These forms of happiness aren’t good enough. Our feelings of fulfillment do not last. And the stress of life continues.”
― Sam Harris, quote from Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion

“He remembered the moment when his thoughts had inverted themselves—that shift from not being able to please everyone to not trying—and the way that change had enabled him to see past the maneuverings and histrionics of the representatives to the deeper structures of the problem; it was the same with the Corazhas.”
― Katherine Addison, quote from The Goblin Emperor

“Keith Richards I remember. There was a horse backstage that week, and I was in my dressing area and I saw Keith Richards go up, hold the horse’s face in his hands, and go, “You’re a fine horse, aren’t you?” I’ll never forget that.”
― Tom Shales, quote from Live From New York: An Uncensored History Of Saturday Night Live

“What’s going on with you and Horny Nut Sac?” “Who?” “Randy Balls. Come on. Spill it. He’s clearly had his face in your beaver.”
― Helena Hunting, quote from PUCKED Over

About BookQuoters

BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.

We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.

Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
