“I'm in love with you, Blake. I've been in love with you from the moment I saw you. I've been in love with you from the day I was born and possibly even before then. I belong to you. My body belongs to you. My heart belongs to you. Please let me make love to you." -Cole”
“You're going to need a better reason this time. A real reason. And just to be clear, I don't give a fuck what it is because I am not going to let you go. Period.”
“You're the only one that fucking matters...only you...always.”
“I wish I didn't have this strong urge to uncover my past, because with this comes devastation and sorrow that I'm not sure I'm strong enough to relive.”
“Find a man that will watch over you. Don’t settle for men who only have one thing in mind. If he doesn’t like to eat, something is wrong with him,” she says, which makes me laugh. “He needs to put you before himself—always,” she would tell me. “He needs to love you more than you love him.” That one confuses me a bit, but I don’t ask...
“You mustn’t be afraid of love, Blake. No matter what you go through in life, don’t be afraid to love. Loving is the only thing that keeps us sane. If it weren’t for love, the suffering we experience wouldn’t be worth it. If it weren’t for the suffering, we wouldn’t cherish the good things life gives us. Sometimes it’ll seem as though life only knocks you down, but you have to learn to pick yourself up and fight back. I love you, Blake. I will always love you even when I’m no longer here to tell you,” Aunt Shelley breathes weakly.”

“I love you to the moon and back.”
“Sometimes you need to do things that hurt in order to protect the ones you love.”
“I try to search for the light, but I know I’ll never find it, because there is no light in darkness.”
“If it weren’t for love, the suffering we experience wouldn’t be worth it. If it weren’t for the suffering, we wouldn’t cherish the good things life gives us. Sometimes it’ll seem as though life only knocks you down, but you have to learn to pick yourself up and fight back.”
“He made sure that no man would ever life up to him. In the end, he hurt me more than I hurt him. I broke his heart, but he tore mine into a million pieces. Even if I wanted to piece it back together, I would never find them all because he would always be holding some.”
“Hey,” I say as I rest the phone on my shoulder.
“Are you really dripping wet and wearing a tiny white towel?” he asks in a raspy low voice.
“Yes, I just got out of the shower.”
“Good,” he exhales into the line. “At least I don’t have this raging hard-on for no reason.”
“Fine. I’ll go back to my room,” he says gruffly, his blazing eyes boring into mine. “Just know that I’ll be thinking very naughty thoughts and doing very naughty things to myself while I picture you naked and wet.”
“You mustn’t be afraid of love, Blake. No matter what you go through in life, don’t be afraid to love. Loving is the only thing that keeps us sane. If it weren’t for love, the suffering we experience wouldn’t be worth it. If it weren’t for the suffering, we wouldn’t cherish the good things life gives us.”
“I love you too, baby,” he said in a low voice that makes me shiver. Cole has been saying those words to me for the past nine years. I’ve never said them back.”
“In the end, he hurt me more than I hurt him. I broke his heart, but he tore min into a million pieces. Even if I wanted to piece it back together, I would never find them all because he would always be holding some.”
“I’m in love with you, Blake. I’ve been in love with you from the moment I saw you. I’ve been in love with you from the day I was born and possibly even before then. I belong to you. My body belongs to you. My heart belongs to you. Please let me make love to you.”
“I don’t know how to wake up without your good mornings or go to sleep without your good nights.”
“My favorite part about cooking is drinking red wine while I do it.”
“Blake, if the world was for sale, I’d buy it for you.”
“I broke his heart, but he tore mine into a million pieces. Even if I wanted to piece it back together, I would never find them all because he would always be holding some.”
“There is nobody out there that will ever be what you are to me. Nobody will ever be pretty enough, smart enough, funny enough, or as big of a pain in my ass as you are. You're the only one I want. You're the only one I've ever wanted.”
“I didn't know how much I missed you until I saw you walk away from me.”
“Cue the damn tears. Damn Chris Martin and his ability to make me cry every time he opens his damn mouth.”
“There is a proverb my grandmother used to repeat: Old sins have long shadows.”
“Positive obsession is about not being able to stop just because you’re afraid and full of doubts. Positive obsession is dangerous. It’s about not being able to stop at all.”
“I could read the great books but the great books don't interest me.”
“Tom: If you love with kindness, even when you can't love with permanence, you'll deserve the one who's worthy along that path for you.”
BookQuoters is a community of passionate readers who enjoy sharing the most meaningful, memorable and interesting quotes from great books. As the world communicates more and more via texts, memes and sound bytes, short but profound quotes from books have become more relevant and important. For some of us a quote becomes a mantra, a goal or a philosophy by which we live. For all of us, quotes are a great way to remember a book and to carry with us the author’s best ideas.
We thoughtfully gather quotes from our favorite books, both classic and current, and choose the ones that are most thought-provoking. Each quote represents a book that is interesting, well written and has potential to enhance the reader’s life. We also accept submissions from our visitors and will select the quotes we feel are most appealing to the BookQuoters community.
Founded in 2023, BookQuoters has quickly become a large and vibrant community of people who share an affinity for books. Books are seen by some as a throwback to a previous world; conversely, gleaning the main ideas of a book via a quote or a quick summary is typical of the Information Age but is a habit disdained by some diehard readers. We feel that we have the best of both worlds at BookQuoters; we read books cover-to-cover but offer you some of the highlights. We hope you’ll join us.
